Showing show cattle and livestock has been a Simmermon tradition for many generations. Starting back in 1936, Bill Simmermon started showing Hereford steers from Texas winning first place at the Indiana State Fair with his summer yearling. He also showed Angus steers and heifers.
Bill and Betty’s children, Teresa, John and Amy all kept up the tradition by successfully showing cattle for a total of 19 years. Bill would travel miles and miles out west looking for the next great show steer.
John and Marcia’s children, Brad and Jill began showing cattle before they were old enough to be in 4-H and traveled extensively all over the country fulfilling their dreams of showing prize winning stock. They also were successful in showing hogs on the state level. While attending college at Purdue, Brad started trading steers across the country and traveling those same miles out west that his Grandpa once did.
